Here are some opening day rides (July 17, 1955): The Disneyland Railroad carried Walt Disney and his first official passengers. One of the opening-day rides is Jungle Cruise, which is intended to have real animals! Animals would sleep through the day or hide, and that was a problem. So, they had to use animatronics.
Another ride was Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. The original name was Snow White and Her Adventures. Most people didn’t like it because it was so scary for kids. In 2021, Disney made it less scary and renamed it.
Here is a fun fact: did you know the drawbridge in the Sleeping Beauty Castle only raised and lowered twice? The first time was in 1955. The second time was in 1983.
