Good to Know
Questions About the Parks
Which Disney park is the oldest?
Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California. Walt Disney opened it on July 17, 1955, and it is still the only Disney park he saw built.
Which Disney park is the newest?
Shanghai Disneyland, which opened on June 16, 2016, is the newest park built from the ground up. In Paris, Walt Disney Studios Park was transformed and renamed Disney Adventure World in 2026.
How many parks are there in all?
Twelve theme parks at six resorts: two in California, four in Florida, two in Japan, two in France, one in Hong Kong and one in Shanghai.
Is another Disney park on the way?
Yes. In May 2025 Disney and Miral announced plans for a Disney theme park and resort on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. It will be the seventh Disney resort. No opening date has been announced yet. Read Disney’s announcement ↗
Do I need to speak the local language at parks overseas?
No. Every resort has an English-language website, and the parks in Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai offer English park maps and signs. Hearing the local language is part of the fun!
Why does the station play park audio in other languages?
Because that is how guests there hear it. When you hear a parade from Tokyo or a show from Paris on Magic of the Mouse Radio, you are hearing it the same way it sounds in the park.
